Loren's 5th Birthday Party

The only thing Loren requested for her birthday party was a BBQ/Swim party in FRESNO with her cousins.  Who could deny a girl that?  We were going to have her party over labor day weekend, but decided to go to Fresno a week earlier to see Uncle Scotty.  Sadly, it ended up being the day he was diagnosed and admitted to the hospital.  While he was waiting to be admitted to the hospital (accompanied by Auntie Steph), their kids, along with the rest of the family, gathered at Grandma and Grandpa Sly's for a little birthday celebration for Loren.  Daddy got tri-tip from the Meat Market and we had rice pilaf, rolls and salads.  Loren was most happy that she could celebrate her birthday with FAMILY...and there were lots of it.  Grandma and Grandpa Sly, Grandma and Grandpa Ols, Aunt Rachelle, Ryne, Drew and Shannon, Uncle Bobby and Auntie Adriana, Ysabella, Auntie Mel, Uncle Alan, Jake, Emma, Joel, Lilly, Madison, Carson and Jackson were all there.

We ate first and the kids couldn't wait to go swimming afterwards.  They swam like fish for quite awhile, but we were able to entice them out of the pool with cake/cupcakes and presents for the birthday girl.

Loren picked out this cake and the Hello Kitty cupcakes.  They were perfect....and delicious!

We sang "Happy Birthday" to Loren and she was surrounded by all her cousins.  It was so sweet!

We definitely know that little Jack-Jack enjoyed his cupcake.  He looked like the Incredible Hulk with all that green frosting on him.
Loren was excited to open her presents and sure didn't lack for little helpers!  She got lots of new clothes, some toys, and a new ladybug pillowpet.

What a wonderful birthday party for Loren!!!  It totally makes me wish we lived closer and could have family parties more often.  It was so much fun and I felt so much less pressure...and most of all...we got to share it with those we love the most.  So happy Loren had such an awesome idea!!!
