Morgan's Preschool Field Trip to Bishop's Pumpkin Farm

I love a good preschool field trip, especially when it means I get to go back to Bishop's Pumpkin Farm with my girl.  Morgan's preschool class had a wonderful time at the pumpkin farm.  The weather was perfect! 

The kids spent some time in the petting zoo which is not something I usually do with the kids.  Loren is scared of the animals and usually Morgan is too.  It was great that on this particular day, she was feeling a little more brave while with her friends.  Mrs. Wright took the time to show Morgan the animals and even showed her how to brush the baby goats.  Before too long, Morgan was chasing them around trying to get them to stand still so she could brush them. She wasn't quite up to feeding them, but this was major progress!

We always love the train ride at Bishops.  We marvel at the giant pumpkins in the field, realizing that we will only be purchasing one that we can carry out!

Somehow, I missed the opportunity to take a picture of each child by the "how tall this fall" sign when we were here earlier in the month.  I was determined to make sure I at least got a picture of Morgan on this return visit!

And who doesn't love a good hayride?  I love that you can take a hay ride out to the pumpkin farm, pick your own pumpkin off the vine and bring it back to purchase.  The kids loved doing this!

Mickey Call

On the morning of October 21st, we got a very special phone call.  It was Mickey Mouse himself.  The kids have been looking forward to our upcoming cruise and this made it all that more real.  They loved hearing Mickey's voice and could hardly contain their excitement over the next week as we waited in anticipation for our Disney Cruise!

Loren Lost a Front Tooth

This girl is on a roll in "losing her teeth" department.  She lost her big top tooth on October 21st!  It was super loose and she decided to help it along.  She is quite the champ when it comes to pulling her teeth out, twisting them or just wiggling them til they fall out.  Here's to hoping she loses the other one soon so we can enjoy a giant toothless smile.  I can't get enough of this smile!

Time with Morgan

With both Grant and Loren in school all day long, I am really trying to take advantage of this sweet time that I have with Morgan.  We often spend the mornings doing her little "homework" for preschool.  Once a week, she has to write ten words that start with the letter they are working on for that week.  On this particular week, she insisted on writing the words all by herself.  Previously, she would help thing of the words and then I would write them for her.  Only two months into preschool and she was confident that she could write them all by herself.  Needless to say, she did an amazing job with her writing.  She even helped sound out some of the words.  She loves preschool and loves learning! 

The other thing we enjoy doing together is having little lunch dates.  We often go to Costa Vida (her favorite) and enjoy the Tuesday chicken taco special (and a cherry coke...shhhhhhh...don't tell anyone)!  We always had fun and was good about keeping our dates a secret (we wouldn't want to make brother and sister feel bad for not being there).  I'm going to miss this girl like crazy next year when she goes to kindergarten.  Oh how I wish they could stay little forever!

Fall Carnival at Lincoln Crossing

I love fall.  It means trips to the pumpkin farm, fall leaves, pumpkins,  and of course, the FALL carnival at the kids school.  The fall carnival is full of fun stuff including lots of games (where everyone wins a prize), tricycle races, balloon animals and cotton candy. The kids always have a great time and it's a wonderful activity where they get to see lots of their school friend in a fun atmosphere!

Loren Swallowed a Tooth

While we were at Bishop's Pumpkin Farm in mid-October, Loren was enjoying a caramel apple when she lost her very first tooth.  Ironically, she didn't even realized she had lost the tooth until it was too late...she had swallowed it!  Admittedly, I had a little moment of sadness when I realized I wasn't going to have her little tooth...the very first one that she lost.  I pulled it together and didn't make a big deal out of it because I didn't want her to get upset.  We laughed about it, all while enjoying the rest of the caramel apple.  That night, she was worried the tooth fairy wouldn't come because the didn't have the tooth, so I wrote a little note for her.  Thankfully, the tooth fairy still paid her a visit and she got a pack of gum and $2 (a little more than brother usually gets so maybe the tooth fairy felt bad that she had swallowed it).  And so it begins for Loren...the first of many baby teeth to come out!
