In late August, Grant had the opportunity to participate in his first Rain Gutter Regatta as a cub scout. He was so excited and couldn't wait to make his little boat. I have to say, this required a lot less work than the pinewood derby car and he could do most of it without help. Turns out though, that the technique in blowing your boat is AS important, if not more important, than the design of your boat. We did learn a little lesson about sail placement, and next year, his sail will be flush with the boat so that wind does not escape under the sail. He had so much fun and did pretty well! The weather was perfect and the primary presidency made these adorable sailboat jello desserts! The kids really enjoyed those festive treats!
